I should add that I have tried to install Kaspersky protection software and the program wizard will not open - indicating a problem. That is how I came to this place...

When I return home to my laptop I will remove bonjour following the linked instructions.
I do not remember installing WildTangent - is that something I should also remove?
How much of a problem is not having IE8? Could that be stopping the Kaspersky from loading? As an online university student, IE8 is not compatible with my blackboard program which provides classes - it makes it MUCH more difficult. If it is a requirement for Kaspersky I will have to make arrangements for IE8...
What will happen with the items that were quaraninted during the scans completed as per the original instructions (I think they are in the AZN quaratanine folder?)

IE is a part of Windows, that is why is very important to hold it up-to-date.

AVZ/File/ 'Quarantine' Folder Viewer, check all the files, click the Archive button.

I have removed the two suggested programs and will upgrade to IE8 from IE7.
There is no option for "ARCHIVE", I attempted to "export files to ZIP" and then upload. I used the page I was sent to above, and uploaded, then noticed it said NOT to upload there but rather to the thread - very confusing. I then came back up here to upload the zip file directly and it said it exceeded my limit by 187 KB which does not make sense to me.
Once the virus zip is uploaded will those items be able to be removed? are they already rendered harmless now? should I simply use the delete folder button? or check the boxes and select delete?
How should I proceed?

Just wanted to return to say thank you for your help.
After adding the IE8 and removing the programs you suggested, I was finally able to load the kaspersky security program. It located several more items and cleaned them up, but after a few days now things seem to be working well.
I very much appreciate this free service and want you to know that what you do is very important in the PC community.
