[I]Anti-Malware for MacIntosh[/I] will accredit a product's ability to detect malware specifically designed to run on this equipment as well as other types to mitigate against any possibility of the host being used as a gateway or relay.
The test suite comprises samples contained in the latest Anti-Virus Checkmark Certifications test suite and of malware collected by West Coast Labs that has been specifically designed to run on Macintoshes.
Although not all malware contained in the Anti-Virus Checkmark Certifications test suite will execute on Macs, anti-malware products operating on Macintoshes will still be expected to detect such malware to mitigate against any possibility of the host being used as a gateway or relay for malware.
